BYU women’s volleyball team walks away from USF victorious

The BYU women’s team continued their winning streak and defeated the University of San Francisco in a tight four sets.

“I liked our team’s fight tonight,” head coach Heather Olmstead said. “It’s always a battle on the road and San Francisco played well. I’m proud of the way our team stayed together.”

The Cougars clinched another victory in this highly suspenseful match. Alexa Gray lead the team with 18 kills. Amy Boswell protected the court with nine blocks. Camry Willardson and Alohi Robins-Hardy both assisted the team with 18 sets. Ciara Parker lead the team with 10 digs.

BYU ended the game with 47 kills and 124 attacks overall. USF ended with 65 kills and 151 attacks. Although their stats are lower than USF, BYU was able to block USF 15 times while USF blocked only 7 times.

They won the first set 25-23. The second set went to San Francisco with 17-25. The final two sets were won again by the Cougars with the scores of 25-21 and 25-22.

BYU will head to Santa Clara for their game on Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. PDT.
